See what remains after product costs, commissions, samples and advertising. Model your monthly TikTok Shop contribution and the ad budget your economics can support.
All starting values are illustrative examples. Replace them with your own figures. USD is used throughout.
Start with net revenue and the costs that belong to the same month. The calculator subtracts sold-product costs, fulfillment, platform fees, affiliate commissions, samples, flat creator fees, allocated costs, and advertising. What remains is contribution after the costs you entered.
At 200 retained orders and $50 net revenue per order, revenue is $10,000. The example costs total $6,800 before advertising. That leaves $3,200 for break-even ad spend. At $1,800 in ads, contribution is $1,400, or 14% of revenue. These are invented teaching inputs, not BPM client results.
Your fee base and commission mix may differ from net revenue. Convert actual charges to an effective percentage of the revenue used here. If only half of $10,000 in revenue earns a 20% commission, $1,000 of commission is an effective 10% of total revenue. Avoid counting the same fee in two fields.
Use your settlement statements and campaign costs to reconcile the inputs. TikTok’s Seller Spending Insights documentation explains where eligible sellers can review referral fees, affiliate costs and advertising. Availability and fees can change; this tool does not automatically retrieve your account data.
Only the costs entered are covered. Include an appropriate allocation for management, software, labor and other overhead if you want them reflected. Income taxes, financing, working capital and unentered expenses are outside the model.
Use revenue after refunds and retained orders that match it. Include unrecovered shipping, lost inventory and fees from returned orders in other order costs, spread over retained orders. Put free creator samples and their shipping in the separate monthly sample field.
Do not transfer it directly. This calculator uses all modeled net shop revenue divided only by advertising spend. TikTok’s reporting numerator, attribution and definitions may differ. Reconcile those definitions before setting campaign targets.
The calculator shows no finite break-even threshold and a zero available ad budget. Under those assumptions, improving advertising efficiency alone cannot cover the non-ad costs. Revisit price, order mix, costs and allocations.
